Description:
A 107 acre site located to the north of Exeter International Airport, accessed via junction 29 of the M5. Over 1.4 million sq ft. of office and industrial/manufacturing accommodation are to be developed including a 30,000 sq ft St Modwen Innovation Centre, ancillary retail development and a hotel are planned.
Date Acquired:
The former WW2 airport complex was previously run by Devon County Council as part of Exeter Airport. St. Modwen was named joint venture partner in February 2009, and the agreements were exchanged with Devon County Council in March 2009.
Current Status:
In June 2010 the outline planning consent for Skypark was granted. The partnership structure for the joint venture follows the Government’s local asset backed vehicle (LABV) methodology and will allow Devon County Council to participate in the future value and decision making during the 20 years of the partnership.
Following the completion of a section 106 agreement with East Devon District Council, full planning consent was granted in June 2010 for 1.4 million sq ft of office and industrial space at Skypark.
