MAJOR RETAILERS OPEN AT THE QUARTER
The UK's leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen is progressing well with its transformative works to parts of Walsall with the completion of the first phase of development at The Quarter, its city centre retail scheme, with two major retailers now open to the public.
The 60,000 sq ft retail scheme is now open, following shop fit outs by high street brands B&M and Poundland who occupy a combined 30% of the development.
Gregg Titley, Development Director at St. Modwen, said: "Following months of work on the site, it's exciting to see the new shops open to the public, providing a vibrant shopping destination for local people and visitors to enjoy.
"We are in talks with a number of retailers for the remaining units and look forward to attracting new businesses and job opportunities to the city."
Located at the south east of Old Square, the retail development is a five-minute walk from Walsall's bus and train stations, and a short drive from J10 of the M6.
The scheme has been delivered through a joint venture agreement, known as Norton and Proffitt Developments, between St. Modwen and Goold Estates Ltd, as part of the ongoing £90m transformation of Walsall town centre.
