ST. MODWEN TO SUBMIT PLANS FOR A NEW PHASE OF DEVELOPMENT ON FORMER GOODYEAR FACTORY SITE, FOLLOWING PUBLIC CONSULTATION
Outline plans for a new phase of development at the former Goodyear factory site in Wolverhampton will be submitted by regeneration specialist St. Modwen, following a public consultation.
St. Modwen has been transforming this major brownfield site into a vibrant new community since 2009 and has already delivered retail, leisure and community facilities, in addition to 424 homes by Persimmon and Barratt Homes.
Adding to the ongoing regeneration of the site St. Modwen’s outline residential planning application will add 230 new and affordable homes which will help to address the ongoing demand for housing in the area. It will also provide improved facilities for Bushbury Lane Academy, formerly Oxley Primary School.
A public consultation will be held at Bushbury Lane Academy, Ripon Road, Bushbury Lane, Wolverhampton, between 4.30-7.30pm on Tuesday 9th May. St. Modwen will present the latest proposal for the site and welcome local residents and interested parties.
Richard Hickman, Planning Manager at St. Modwen, said: “We have liaised with the local education authority in order to plan access improvements to the school for staff, pupils and parents.
“Consulting with the public is a vital part of the planning process and we would like residents and interested parties to attend the consultation, to give us their comments and feedback on the development, prior to us submitting a planning application for the site.”
