St Modwen sells Stoke land to car dealership

St Modwen Developments Ltd has sold 1.75 acres of a site which it is regenerating in Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent, to Brammalls Car Dealership for urgently needed car storage space.

The land is part of a redundant tile-making site which had lain derelict for many years. St Modwen is undertaking a major reclamation programme to provide land for housing, light industrial development and a public amenity area alongside Springfield Retail Park.

Brammalls require the extra land to allieviate present problems of overcrowding at its showroom site.

Euan Lindsay of St Modwen said: "During last year extensive levelling works were carried out to prepare for some five acres of future housing and three acres of light industrial accommodation. The former clay pit is being remodelled to create an attractive lake to attract wildfowl. Walkways and a viewing platform are being provided for this public amenity which is planned to be completed in the Spring."
