St Modwen selected as preferred developer to regenerate Hatfield Town Centre

St Modwen Developments Ltd, the development subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC, has been selected by Welwyn Hatfield Council and English Partnerships as preferred development partner for the regeneration of Hatfield Town Centre.

The national property regeneration company will over the next few weeks undertake a wide-ranging consultation programme to identify local residents’ detailed aspirations for the town centre. A scheme will then be worked up by mid-summer and will comprise a mixed use scheme of retail, leisure, office and community uses at around 19,509 sq m (210,000 sq ft) and upwards of 140 residential units.

Anthony Glossop, Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of St Modwen, said: "We identified the opportunity at Hatfield Town Centre some time ago and were pleased to take part in a very open and well conducted selection process. Naturally, we are delighted to have been chosen.
