Cranfield Technology Park received a further boost as Nissan  expanded its occupancy on the 100-acre park, which is already home to its 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft)  European design headquarters.

Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd  has taken a further 743 sq m ( 8,000 sq ft)  of office space in the 1,858 sq m ( 20,000 sq ft)  Derwent House.  It will now  occupy the whole of Derwent House in addition to its design headquarters. Rental levels in the building are at £16 per sq ft.

At the same time, St Modwen and Cranfield University announced the next phase of the Technology Park which has just received planning consent. It will comprise  3,530 sq m (38,000 sq ft)  of office space. Construction has commenced and completion is due next summer.

Robin Vaughan of St Modwen, which is developing the park in partnership with Cranfield University, said:  "Naturally, we are delighted that Nissan has decided to expand its business at Cranfield Techology Park.
