ST MODWEN LAUNCHES ITS NEXT SHEFFIELD SCHEME

26 November 2007

St. Modwen Properties PLC has obtained planning consent for its next scheme in Sheffield in the Holbrook industrial area, shortly after the completion of its multi-phase Shepcote Lane development.

Consent has been obtained for  81,900 sq ft of industrial / warehouse units of between 3,000 sq ft and  6,800 sq ft.  The first phase of nine units totalling 44,000 sq ft will be started in the New Year.

Nigel Cunis of St Modwen, said: ³There is still a requirement for small and medium sized sheds in Sheffield, mainly to satisfy a demand from existing businesses to relocate into modern premises.

³Our confidence in the location is already being borne out by early signs of interest even before work begins on site. We are  in detailed discussions with a number of potential occupiers keen to be in this vibrant industrial area south of Sheffield. One transaction is already in solicitors hands

"This is the last plot available on the former Cow Lane opencast coalmine site and its development could create 250 jobs."

Knight Frank is marketing the units which will be for sale or to let.
