ST MODWEN PLANNING NEW STOKE DEVELOPMENT TO MEET TRADE PARK DEMAND

04 February 2008

Demand in North Staffordshire for trade park and the smaller industrial units has prompted St Modwen to seek planning consent to develop 60,000 sq ft of such accommodation at Phoenix Park, Longton, fronting the A50.

St Modwen is hoping to be able to begin in the Spring developing five acres of the ten-acre former timber yard to create five buildings providing units ranging from 1,600 sq ft to 17,500 sq ft

Euan Lindsay of St Modwen, said: "Our intention is to build all the units speculatively and to have them available to purchase or lease later in the year.

It is a very prominent site with good visibility from the A50. We are confident, based on similar facilities we have developed in Stoke, that there will be a strong demand for this type of high quality accommodation."
