POTTERIES FIRMS EXPANDING AT TRENTHAM

01 May 2008

Fourteen of the 17 studio units on Trentham Business Quarter within Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration's 400-acre Trentham Lakes development have now been sold as companies seek to expand and gain a presence on the high profile scheme.

Twenty-seven units comprising ten 'front door' offices plus the studios have been developed by the St Modwen and Stoke City Council joint venture partnership in this particular phase of the Trentham Lakes development. The three remaining studios are under offer. Six of the ten offices have been sold or let and the remaining four are available.

The latest occupiers are Retherm Ltd, Central Contracts Ltd, BCD Mechanical Services, Packet Media and LIving Design.

Andy Cox, development manager of St Modwen, explained: "This speculative scheme has really captured the interest of both occupiers and private investors because it has provided small to medium-sized business and office space that is particularly in demand in the current market."

On the adjoining Trentham Trade Park, there is also evidence of a similar appeal to private investors and owner occupiers. One of the latest purchasers is Mirage Services Ltd, an established Potteries business which has acquired a 5,000 sq ft unit to expand its precision engineering services to such clients as Toyota at Derby.
