£1.85 million Walsall Enterprise Park scheme underway
St Modwen Developments Ltd, the development subsidiary of St ModwenProperties PLC, has begun the first £1.85 million phase of its WalsallEnterprise Park scheme which will help to meet the increasing demand fornew distribution/ industrial floorspace near to the town centre and Junction 9 of the M6.
Five units totalling 3,260 sq m (35,100 sq ft) , providing space from 622sq m (6,700 sq ft) or by combination a unit of 1,867 sq m (20,100 sq ft), are under construction on the 20-acre site at Pleck which St Modwen acquired from Lattice Properties. Units up to 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) can be accommodated on the site.
“St Modwen is always pleased to be able to undertake speculative developmentin the region,” said Nick Kay, St Modwen’s development surveyor in chargeof the scheme. “There is a high level of interest in the scheme and weexpect to be announcing soon details about the development on another par of the site of buildings tailored to occupiers requirements.”
Carl Durrant, of sole agent King Sturge, said that interest in the firstphase, which is due for completion by the end of September, was from bothlocal companies and occupiers wanting to relocate from outside the region.
