A NINTH OCCUPIER FOR EASTLEIGH WORKS
St Modwen is continuing to attract occupiers to Eastleigh Works, the 47-acre former Alstom site at Campbell Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire, it took control of at the end of last year.
Associated Polymer Resources, who recycle plastics, are the ninth occupier secured on the estate which St Modwen is managing on behalf of Key Property Investments, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties plc and Salhia Real Estate Company. The firm has taken a five-year lease on the 6,300 sq ft unit at an annual rent of £4.50 per sq ft.
Paul Arnold, senior development manager for St Modwen, explains that short term/medium term lettings are being sought at the managed estate while the long-term future redevelopment is planned.
“The latest transaction underlines the continuing interest in flexible accommodation available on attractive terms on a well-located, secure managed estate. We have a good level of interest and negotiations are progressing on the letting of other units,” he adds.
Up to another 250,000 sq ft of non-rail and rail connected office and industrial buildings are available to let on the estate.
CB Richard Ellis are letting agents for St Modwen.
Notes to Editors:
The edge-of-town site provides more than 600,000 sq ft of rolling stock repair sheds, warehousing and open storage areas within the South Hampshire Strategic Employment Zone. It is within 1.5 miles of Junction 5 M27.
It was acquired as part of the Alstom portfolio in December 2002 and last year St Modwen took control of the site following Alstom Transport’s decision to vacate the site.
