Airport City’s pop-up street food market lands in Wythenshawe

Wythenshawe Town Centre played host to Manchester’s Airport City pop-up street food market on Friday 16th November.

The successful ‘Far Flung Fridays’ street food event took place between 11:30am and 2:00pm at Wythenshawe Precinct, serving global cuisine from Greater Manchester-based traders alongside local entertainment.

Pop-up stalls showcased a variety of cuisines both from Airport City and Wythenshawe’s very own market. Wassanas Thai Noodles, Mexican street food from La Casita and American delights from Big Grillie Style, as well as refreshments from Northern Grind Coffee.

Big Grillie Style and La Casita are favourites at Airport City’s Far Flung Friday’s event, and were joined by Wythenshawe Market’s Wassanas Thai Noodles and Northern Grind Coffee.

Live entertainment by Loose Change Buskers captured the attention of the local community as the Town Centre packed out for an afternoon of food tasting and family fun. The Loose Change Buskers are a charity band started by two Altrincham musicians, with each performance raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Far Flung Friday’s takes place at Platform Airport City, a destination in Manchester Airport’s Transport Interchange, a venue to enjoy a wide range of community events, including food and drink showcasing cuisines from destinations that Manchester Airport flies to.

The event on Friday was an opportunity for visitors to find out more about Manchester City and Airport City, supported by St. Modwen, along with Real Lives Wythenshawe Group.
