St. Modwen announces the appointment of Andrew Dobson as Senior Director – Strategic Land & Planning to support the ongoing development of major residential schemes and drive future initiatives.

In this role, Andrew will focus on identifying and promoting sites to develop as the company continues to bring forward strategic land across the UK that will ultimately feed its St. Modwen Homes and St. Modwen Logistics businesses. Andrew will report into Guy Gusterson, Managing Director of Strategic Land & Regeneration.

With over 25 years’ experience in the development industry, Andrew joins from Crest Nicholson, where he spent almost seven years, most recently as Managing Director of its Strategic Projects division. In this role he managed a team of 30 that was responsible for identifying, promoting, securing and delivering all aspects of large scale residential led communities.

This experience will support St. Modwen to deliver its existing and future master developer partnerships with landowners, such as the recently announced partnership with Severn Trent on its 154-acre site to the west of Cheltenham, which is part of a wider mixed-use project known as The Golden Valley Development. Earlier this month, St. Modwen announced a joint venture with Merton College, Oxford, to develop 240 acres of land in Worcester to create a vibrant new neighborhood of up to 1,250 homes and 900,000 sq ft of logistics space. Over the past five years, St. Modwen has prepared over 1,600 acres of land for development and completed over £400m of residential land sales.

Alongside Andrew’s appointment, Strategic Land & Regeneration has also promoted three current members of the team. Rob Williams is made Managing Director, Major Projects, while Janine Parker and Dinny Shaw take on the roles of Customer & Community Director and Planning Director respectively.

Andrew brings a wealth of experience in delivering transformational and impactful development projects, and will ensure we’re continuing to create new communities that meet evolving customer needs. This significant appointment is testament to our reputation as an expert developer and regeneration specialist and we look forward to welcoming Andrew to the team.

I would also like to congratulate Rob, Janine and Dinny on their promotions, all of which are richly deserved and a result of their hard work and excellent performance. We are lucky to work as part of a talented team and it is important that we recognise and celebrate these achievements.”
