ARE YOU STRATFORD-UPON-AVON’S HULA HOOP HERO?
The hunt is on for Stratford-upon-Avon’s hula hoop hero! Hoopers young and old are invited to take part in the Meon Vale Leisure Centre Hula Hooping Charity Challenge at 1pm on Saturday 16 August.
Hula hoops will be provided and entry is £1 – with all proceeds donated to The Shakespeare Hospice, the leisure centre’s charity of the year. The person to hoop the longest will win a range of prizes including a month’s free gym membership and a free Onside Coaching school holiday scheme, depending on their age.
The challenge is part of the Meon Vale Leisure Centre launch event which runs from 12-4pm and boasts a huge line up of entertainment and sports and fitness activities including: children’s zoo with a meerkat, armadillos and raccoons; bouncy castle, gladiator duel and bungee run; smoothie bike; children’s sports with Onside Coaching; gym workshops; pilates, karate and kettlebell taster sessions; the chance to play rugby with Stratford-upon-Avon RFC; face painting and balloon modelling; stalls and food and drink. Entry is free with donations for The Shakespeare Hospice encouraged for certain activities.
Special guests will include Greg Sammons, Coach at Leicester Tigers and head of strength and conditioning at Moseley RFC, and Stratford-upon-Avon district and parish councillors.

“The launch event is a great opportunity for residents to join in with lots of fun activities and sports and fitness workshops. They can also see what our gym has to offer and find out about our membership package and unique Personalise Your Training (PYT) programme – a one-to-one, month long induction that gives members a taste of all our multi million pound facilities and services.”
