ASHBY IVANHOE NET NEW JACKETS THANKS TO ST. MODWEN HOMES

A junior football club has hit the back of the net after receiving new jackets thanks to a donation from St. Modwen Homes.

Ashby Ivanhoe FC’s under 7s will be donning their new jackets throughout the season after the housebuilder, which is building new homes at Branston Leas near the A38 in Burton-upon-Trent, donated £370 to the club.

The team will be wearing the new jackets at its games in the Burton Junior Football League at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre where it plays games against other teams from across the region.

Leigh Godfrey, manager of the under 7s at Ashby Ivanhoe FC said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the kind donation from St. Modwen Homes and would like to thank them for their support.

“Football clubs like ours are run by volunteers so any support like this is very well received. We pride ourselves on being able to give any child an opportunity to play football regardless of skill or ability, whilst also providing an environment where they can meet new friends.”

Jo Winston, Head of Sales North at St. Modwen Homes said: “We are thrilled to give Ashby Ivanhoe FC’s under 7s a special treat in the form of some new jackets.

“As well as creating new homes and communities, it is imperative that we help support the existing neighbourhoods in which we build. Clubs like Ashby Ivanhoe FC provide fantastic opportunities for children to make new friends, keep active, have some fun and learn the values of teamwork, and are key to creating a happy community.

“It’s nice to be able to give clubs like this a helping hand where we can. The jackets look great and we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the team’s progress throughout the season.”

The new homes at Branston Leas form part of a larger regeneration project by St. Modwen which includes a collection of shops, car park and a community garden being delivered at Branston Square, a new sports pavilion at Clays Lane Park, Burton Gateway business park and Branston Leas Wood which will boast in excess of 20,000 trees when complete and will become part of The National Forest.

The Marketing Suite and Show Home at Branston Leas is located off Hollyhock Way and is open between 12pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday and 10am until 5.30pm from Thursday to Monday, inclusive of weekends.
