AUDI CAR DEALERSHIP SECURED FOR TRENTHAM LAKES
Work is due to start shortly on the development of a new Audi car dealership on Trentham Lakes, Stoke-on-Trent, following the completion of a deal between developer Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd and Volkswagen Group (UK) Ltd on behalf of Audi UK.
Audi has purchased a three-acre site on Stanley Matthews Way for which planning consent has been granted for a 33,000 sq ft showroom and servicing facility. Construction is expected to take seven months and the complex is planned to open in February 2008.
The Audi dealership will be the fourth dealership to have relocated to Trentham Lakes. Volkswagen, Toyota and Ford are already operating there. Ford completed its new showroom in April.
Euan Lindsay, senior development manager with Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Stoke City Council, said: “The completion of the deal is very pleasing indeed given the lengthy planning process that has been involved. The Audi dealership will be a significant and impressive facility relecting the quality of the marque.
“Audi will be relocating its Stoke operation from Cobridge Road with all personnel transferring. There will also be an additional 12 jobs created covering sales, administration and servicing.”
