Automotive parts supplier expands into Centre 38

A new 6,503 sq m (70,000 sq ft) manufacturing facility on Centre 38, Barton-under-Needwood, near Burton-on-Trent, has been pre-let by Barton Business Park Ltd, a joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and ProLogis Ltd, to one of the world’s biggest automotive parts suppliers.

The company has taken a long term commitment on the Barton building.

Paul Smith of St Modwen, said: “We are very pleased to welcome an automotive supplier with global activities to Centre 38. Its building is due for completion mid January 2006 . Once its facilities are fully operational in the first quarter of 2006, the total number of employees of all occupiers at Centre 38 will exceed 1,000.”

DTZ and Burbage Realty acted for Barton Business Park Ltd. CRE Colliers represented the automotive supplier.
