BARTON BUSINESS PARK DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE SOLD FOR £9.5 MIL

A 150,000 sq ft (13,935 sq m) distribution warehouse on Centre 38, Barton-under-Needwood, near Burton-on-Trent, has been sold to Close Brothers for £9.5 million. The unit was developed by Barton Business Park Ltd, a joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Prologis.

The building on a 7.56 acre plot has been sold with vacant possesion and follows on from the recent successful development of two other buildings totalling 435,000 sq ft (40,411 sq m) for Pirelli and Intier Automotive Interiors. Other occupiers include the national distribution centre for Argos and Bombardier Rail maintenance depot.

Paul Smith of St Modwen, said: “Centre 38 is an established well located business park with more than 1,000 people employed on it. Three plots remain to be developed which will provide a further 165,000 sq ft (15,328 sq m) of industrial/warehouse space.”
