Leading airline pilot training provider Cabair International has expanded its presence in the Innovation Centre at Cranfield University Technology Park. In the 5 years it has been based at the Tech Park Cabair has doubled its floor space to 30,000 sq ft in order to accommodate new state-of-the-art classrooms and simulators.

Cabair has been training pilots for over forty years and at its Cranfield training centre it delivers its flagship Integrated Programme – a 14 month course designed to take a cadet with little experience and knowledge through training and on to employment as a First Officer with an airline. The Tech Park suits Cabair very well as CEO Andy Cruise explains:

A Cabair representative commented:

“The career for which we are preparing our students is one which relies heavily on sophisticated technology and complex systems, and for us as training providers, we constantly have to find new and innovative ways to help our cadets learn and retain information. The Innovation Centre provides the perfect environment for our students and staff with its state of the art technological and business facilities which have been developed through St. Mowden and its partner Cranfield University.”

Rupert Wood, Regional Director at St. Modwen commented:

“We are delighted that Cabair have expanded at the Innovation Centre. Cabair’s expansion at Cranfield is further evidence that Cranfield University Technology Park is a location of choice for companies that are leading the way in innovative businesses. This is a great example of how young businesses can develop at our Innovation Centre, using the excellent facilities we have on the Tech Park and at Cranfield University.”

Cranfield University Technology Park is an 80 acre site situated adjacent to Cranfield University on which St. Modwen alone has already developed over 116,000 sq ft of business accommodation which is occupied by over 40 businesses. Office suites from 145 sq ft – 1,800 sq ft in the Innovation Centre, from 2,000 – 20,000 sq ft in front door offices and an HQ office of 31,000 sq ft are available. It is also home to Nissan’s 220,000 sq ft European Technical Centre.
