CATFORD SHOPPING CENTRE NOW FULLY LET AS ST. MODWEN DRAWS IN NEW TENANTS
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has concluded deals with three new tenants at its Catford Shopping Centre in Lewisham, which takes the scheme to full occupancy once more.
National fashion retailer Internacionale has signed a new 10 year lease on a store at 6-8 Winslade, following the recent letting of 27 Winslade Way to a hardware store operator and letting of 18 Catford Broadway to an established local food retailer. The lettings will expand the existing shopping offer, which already includes a good mix of national and local retailers. The Centre, which is anchored by Tesco, also encompasses an indoor market, the Catford Mews, and several office premises.
Killian Morris, Senior Development Manager at St. Modwen, said: “We are delighted that the Catford Shopping Centre is fully let once again. St. Modwen has successfully managed the Centre since 1993 and we have always maintained it as a vibrant shopping facility offering a diverse range of goods and services and these recent lettings only reinforce further its attraction to retailers and customers alike.
“Shopping centres across the country are suffering in the downturn, but Catford is one of the few that can claim 100 per cent occupancy. This is testament not only to the Centre’s extensive shopping offer and its excellent location in the heart of Lewisham Borough, but also to the fact that we have maintained rent and service charges at affordable levels over the past few years. This has meant that existing tenants have remained committed to the Centre while new retailers have been attracted into the fold.
“The end result is a vibrant shopping centre that is prospering at a time when many other centres are struggling to fill their vacant space.”
