A local Chinese cash and carry operator has bought a 1,579 sq m (17,000 sq ft) warehouse on the 400-acre Trentham Lakes Business Park, Stoke-on-Trent, for £1.286 million.

The warehouse is to be built by Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Stoke City Council, and will be completed in summer 2006. Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration will be building a speculative 2.044 sq m ( 22,000 sq ft) warehouse adjacent to the cash and carry unit which will be available in the same time scale.

Euan Lindsay, of Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration, said: “This development for a local company further underlines the continuing appreciation of the benefits purpose-built facilities can bring in the refurbishment of older out-moded accommodation. Enquiries are currently invited from parties interested in the speculative warehouse.”
