The Cranfield Innovation Centre (CIC) at Cranfield University Technology Park has reached a record high in occupancy levels, as businesses expand their operations across the Milton Keynes and Bedford region.

The CIC is now almost 90% let following new deals this month (October 2014) to three growing businesses. These deals take the number of new lettings, including lettings where existing occupiers have renewed their leases, to 16 this year, which equates to more than 20,000 sq.ft.

Audio technology business Decibel Industries, Streams Claims Services and Adoored Limited, all new businesses on the Tech Park, have taken up office space at the CIC.

The new moves are the latest lettings at the popular Tech Park, which provides space for small and growing businesses at the CIC, as well as larger offices for firms such as food freshness specialist It’sFresh! and oil and gas consultancy Caltec.

Christian Andrew at Decibel Industries said that the Tech Park’s unique facilities and its proximity to key clients was the main factor behind the firm’s move to the Tech Park:

“Our client base is centred around the music and motorsport industries within the motorsport triangle of Oxford, Northampton and Milton Keynes, making the CIC’s position ideal for Decibel Industries.

“The Tech Park’s relationship with Cranfield University and its established links to manufacturing are also important for us, as we look to develop new products and expand the business.”

Rupert Wood, Regional Director at St. Modwen said that the demand for quality office space has increased significantly over the course of 2014:

“Since the start of the year we have let over 20,000 sq ft of office space at the CIC. All the new lettings have been new businesses coming to the Tech Park or existing businesses wanting to have more space to grow into.. This is great news for the Tech Park and also indicates the buoyant occupier market across the region as firms expand, move and gear their business plans for growth.”
