CLARKS STEPS IN TO ELEPHANT AND CASTLE SHOPPING CENTRE
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist and owner of Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre, has signed a deal with Clarks. The shoe retailer has taken the 7,073 sq ft former Woolworths unit on the ground floor for its Factory Division leaving just a few units remaining.
Speaking about the partnership, Julie Lambden, Head of Factory Shopping at Clarks, said: “We are pleased to be returning to Elephant and Castle having been away from the centre for a few months. The shopping centre is an excellent hub from which to trade and we look forward to welcoming back members of the local community this winter.”
James Stockdale, development manager at St. Modwen, said: “This is really positive news. It’s excellent to see that national retailers continue to recognise Elephant and Castle’s trading potential with its consistently high number of customers.
“It’s exciting to see the centre continually progress with its strong variety of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. The addition of a household name specialising in footwear complements the existing traders well and it will undoubtedly be a significant attraction for the scheme.”
