Computer company deal marks Rushmoor Business Centre opening

Completion of one of the biggest office lettings so far in the Rushmoor Business Centre within Kingsmead Shopping Centre, Farnborough, coincided with the official opening of the new business centre on Thursday (May 19), by the Mayor of Farnborough (Coun. Colin Balchin).

Computer firm Fluor have taken a whole floor – 9,000 sq ft – in the 45,000 sq ft air-conditioned business centre which has been created in the office tower over Kingsmead Shopping Centre, following the refurbishment to a high specification of the building by Key Property Investments Ltd, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Salhia Real Estate Co., of Kuwait.

The business centre is arranged over five floors, offering suites from 400 sq ft to whole floors, designed for small and growing businesses. Gary Morris of St Modwen, said: “Our aim in creating Rushmoor Business Centre is to provide a working environment suitable for businesses of

all sizes and on flexible terms with minimum start up costs. The centre is also an additional benefit to our continuing regeneration of Farnborough Town Centre. This strategy has worked for us elsewhere.”

Jeremy Nokes, of letting agents Hollis Hockley, said: “The letting to Fluor takes the number of companies taking space in the building to five, joining the original tenant, Diners Club, who have a whole floor. The business centre is proving attractive to many businesses in the area because it offers a bridge between traditional office lettings and high class serviced office centres.”

In conjunction with the official opening, more than 30 local businesses promoted their goods and services in the Rushmoor Business in Focus

exhibition, staged in the centre and sponsored by North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Business Network International

working with Key Property Investments.

John Harrocks, chief executive of North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry, described the Rushmoor Business Centre as a welcome addition to the local office market enabling businesses to re-locate or to expand.
