Construction has started on St. Modwen Homes’ first residential development in Stoke-on-Trent, which will deliver 300 new homes located off Stanley Matthews Way.

The foundations of the first phase of properties are due to be laid this week, following the commencement of the groundworks and landscaping on site. The development, which has been called Trentham Manor, will offer properties for people on all stages of the property ladder, with the first homes due to be released for sale in September.

The current Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Majid Khan, visited the Trentham Manor site to mark the start of construction. He said: “From the images I’ve seen, you can tell that a lot of work has gone into the designs of these homes. It’s refreshing to see a housebuilder offer high quality design at an affordable price for the local purchaser and I’m excited to see how the scheme will develop over the next few months.”

A multi-award winning housebuilder, St. Modwen Homes has taken a design-led approach to the homes at Trentham Manor, working closely with its architects, Roberts Limbrick, to create contemporary homes that fuse well-loved traditional design features with the latest technology.

The first 123 homes to be delivered at Trentham Manor – including two, three and four bedroom properties in a variety of house designs – have all been designed with traditional Victorian high ceilings and large windows (in some cases floor-to-ceiling) to ensure that all the living spaces are open and bright. The majority of these first homes are situated along a tree lined avenue.

When complete, all the properties will include designer kitchens as well as modern bathrooms with Hansgrohe technology, fitted as standard. Additionally, the larger properties boast open plan kitchen and dining rooms with French doors leading out to the rear garden. All the homes boast high quality fixtures and fittings, helping them really stand out against other housebuilders.

Bev Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We’ve already had lots of interest in our new homes at Trentham Manor, with nearly 400 people signed up to receive further information about the new homes following planning being granted last month. We’re now in a position to start showing people what the houses will look like and hopefully, you won’t be disappointed.

“Trentham Manor has an enviable location, being less than three miles from The Trentham Estate and Gardens and less than five miles from the many shops, restaurants and local amenities on offer in Stoke-on-Trent city centre. Its location will also be really convenient for commuters as both Birmingham and Manchester are around an hour away by car.”

St. Modwen Homes is the residential part of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. St. Modwen has delivered multiple regeneration projects in Stoke, including The Trentham Estate and Gardens, Festival Park and Trentham Lakes, home of Stoke City FC’s Britannia Stadium.
