CWM LOCAL WINS SITE MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR LLANWERN DEVELOPMENT

Chris Winter from Cwm in Blaenau Gwent, has been awarded the title of South Wales’ Site Manager of the Year for his work at the new St. Modwen Homes development in Llanwern.

Chris Winter, project manager for St. Modwen Homes at the £1bn Glan Llyn development, was commended last month by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) for his site management across a broad spectrum of areas including; leadership skills, site administration, health and safety, waste control, protection of work in progress and site tidiness.

Guy Gusterson Regional Director for St. Modwen Homes, was first to congratulate Chris on this fantastic achievement. He said:

“St. Modwen Homes would like to congratulate Chris in winning this award where he has managed to come out top of the pack against site managers from 160 developments across Wales in a variety of sectors, not just residential. Chris wanted to make it clear that this has very much been a team effort; therefore I would like to pass my congratulations on to all those involved in the delivery of our brand new Llanwern development at Glan Llyn.”

The LABC award is nominated by the local risk management surveyors in the regions, which put forward candidates. As a Regional Winner, Chris will now go forward as a nominee for the LABC National (UK) Site Manager of the Year Award later this year.

Guy added:

“Our debut as a house builder in South Wales has already been a great success with 7 properties occupied, and a further 13 reserved at Glan Llyn, which is a testament to the hard work of Chris and the team. With 18 homes available within this first phase of 41 homes ranging from 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, we look forward to welcoming many more residents to the development.”
