DEAL PUT TO BED AS DREAMS SIGNS UP AT EDMONTON GREEN
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist spearheading the £100m redevelopment of Edmonton Green, has signed a deal with bed specialist, Dreams, to open a store at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.
The retailer will take 5,600 sq ft in the centre’s West Mall and is scheduled to open in November. The opening of the shop, Dreams’ second shopping centre-based store in the country, will provide a further boost to the scheme, following the arrival of Argos and Turkish furniture specialist, Çilek, earlier this year. In total, 70,000 sq ft of space has been let in 2009.
Gary Morris, senior development manager at St. Modwen, said: “It’s encouraging to see top retailers such as Dreams recognising Edmonton Green’s potential with its ever growing number of visitors.
“Edmonton Green Shopping Centre has undergone a significant transformation since St. Modwen acquired the site from the London Borough of Enfield 10 years ago and now benefits from new leisure, transport and community facilities and 176 new apartments for local residents. The fact that the scheme continues to make headway is testament to the positive difference that has been made to the area during this period.”
Nick Worthington, chief executive of Dreams, said: “We are pleased to be opening a new store at Edmonton Green. The centre is a vibrant shopping destination which has experienced significantly increased footfall this year. The shop will provide everything customers need for a great night’s sleep. We are looking forward to opening the store and welcoming new shoppers.”
St. Modwen was represented by Gooch Cunliffe Whale and Green & Partners. Dreams acted for itself.
