Singers are clearing their throats, dancers are perfecting their moves, and comedians are polishing their best one-liners, all in preparation for this summer’s biggest talent search – Edmonton’s Got Talent.

The month-long competition will kick off on Saturday 27th July and is a chance for North London’s hidden talent to shine and have a turn on Edmonton Green’s performance stage. The competition is open to all ages and talents, from acrobats and clowns through to impressionists, magicians and comedians.

Each Saturday a panel of expert judges including Britain’s Got Talent star Louise Bagan from Band of Voices and Edmonton Green’s very own Centre Manager Roger Allen, will select a winner to receive an amazing cash prize of £250 kindly donated by Edmonton Green retailers London Vintage and Deli Twist.

As well as being in a with a chance of winning a cash prize, acts will have their performances filmed for the Edmonton Green YouTube channel, giving our stars of tomorrow the perfect platform to promote themselves.

Roger Allen, Centre Manager, said “We want to hear from anyone who has an undiscovered talent worthy of being on the big stage. Over the past few years we have been approached by a number of acts that fall outside of the singing category, and Edmonton’s Got Talent is the opportunity they have been waiting for to get out there and showcase their talent.  We are looking for variety and above all we are looking to be entertained. The judges’ buzzers are at the ready!”

In addition to the main competition, Edmonton Green will also be hosting open-stage nights every Thursday from 1st to 15th August, starting from 4pm in the recently refurbished North Square. So, whether you want to use these as an opportunity to rehearse before the big Saturday events, or simply want to come along and be entertained, make sure you visit Edmonton Green this summer and celebrate local talent.
