Encouraging demand for next phase of Walsall Enterprise Park scheme

Six of the nine units in the current £2.4 million speculative phase of St Modwen Developments’ 16-acre Walsall Enterprise Park development have gone ‘under offer’ within weeks of construction starting.

This follows the successful completion and sale earlier this summer of the previous seven-unit phase.

The latest phase, comprising units from 2,200 sq ft to 6,760 sq ft, will be completed in March.

Ian Romano of St Modwen, said: ‘This is the last remaining plot at the front of the scheme, alongside Wednesbury Road. It has attracted both local and national companies who want to locate here.’

‘It is interesting how the park has attracted a growing following of occupiers. The first phase was hard work and took a long time to sell but each succeeding phase has gone more and more rapidly. A true example of nothing succeeds like success.’

Andrew Dixon is representing St Modwen.

* St Modwen acquired Walsall Enterprise Park from Lattice Properties, formerly British Gas, in December 1999. Since then it has developed 170,000 sq ft in three speculative phases of small/medium sized units and 30,000 sq ft purpose-built units for Superior Sections.

The total accommodation provided by St Modwen on the site is 200,000 sq ft with a further 35,000 sq ft now being constructed, and with the potential to cretae and safeguard 175 jobs.
