FIRST PHASE OF THE QUARTER COMPLETE AND PRE-LET TO MAJOR RETAILERS

The UK’s leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen has delivered the first phase of development at its city centre retail scheme in Walsall, known as The Quarter, and secured pre-let agreements with two major retailers.

The 60,000 sq ft retail scheme was completed earlier this month, and pre-let deals have been agreed with high street brands B&M and Poundland, who between them will occupy 30% of the space.

Gregg Titley, Development Director at St. Modwen, said: “Following months of work on the site, it’s exciting to see the units complete and retailers starting to fit them out, providing a vibrant shopping destination for local people and visitors to enjoy.”

Located at the south east of Old Square, the scheme is just a five-minute walk from Walsall’s bus and train stations, and a short drive from J10 of the M6.

The scheme has been delivered through a joint venture agreement, known as Norton and Proffitt Developments, between St. Modwen and Goold Estates Ltd, as part of the on-going £90m transformation of the town centre.
