FIRST RESIDENT MOVES INTO ST. MODWEN HOMES SITE AT GLAN LLYN
St. Modwen Homes has this month welcomed its first occupier at the 600 acre Glan Llyn development in Llanwern, Newport.
22 year old first time buyer, Lauren Johnson from Magor, became the first person to move into the latest phase of homes at the £1bn development, moving into ‘The Elli’ two bedroom semi-detached property. She said:
“I’m so happy to have my first home. When I first started looking six months ago I tended to avoid new build properties as I always assumed there would be limitations when it came to space. However, when visiting the new St. Modwen Homes site towards the end of last year, the high ceilings, big open spaces and extra windows really made the property stand out, it just seemed so spacious compared to other new build homes. The house has all the features you love about a traditional, older home but with high quality fixture and fittings which really sold it to me.”
Guy Gusterson, Residential Director for St. Modwen Homes, welcomed new homeowner, Lauren, with keys, flowers and a hamper on arrival. He said:
“We are delighted to welcome Lauren to our new site at Glan Llyn, which promises to be a very special development and new community for south east Wales. Our debut in Wales has been a great success so far, with nine properties built and sold to date. With just over 30 homes still available within this first phase ranging from 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, we look forward to welcoming many more residents like Lauren to the development over the coming months.”
The St. Modwen Homes properties at Glan Llyn are available under the Government’s “Help to Buy” scheme making them ideal for first time buyers or those looking for their second or third home. Prices start from £139,000 for a two bedroom home to £249,000 for a four bedroom home.
Glan Llyn is being developed by UK leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen, using a phased approach delivering 4,000 new homes over the next 20 years. The 600 acre site will provide a new local centre offering leisure and retail space supported by new education facilities all surrounded by 80 acres of extensive open parkland.
St. Modwen Homes’ Glan Llyn Sales and Marketing Suite is located off Queensway, Llanwern, Newport, NP19 4QZ and is open for visitors seven days a week between 10am and 5.30pm. Alternatively, please call 0844 243 4606 to request further information.
