Further rise in customers at fully let Kirkby Shopping Centre

A further rise in the number of shoppers visiting Kirkby Shopping Centre, Liverpool, which is now fully let following the completion of two deals, is reported by St Modwen Developments Ltd , which with clients of La Salle Investment Management is regenerating the 70-unit centre.

The latest lettings are to fashion shoe company Jute and to The Learning Shop, run by Knowsley Community College.

Latest ‘footfall’ survey figures show that already this year there has been more than a two per cent rise in the number of shoppers using the centre, and this is on top of a 10.5 per cent increase last year.

Michelle Taylor of St Modwen, said: “Kirkby remains an attractive location for both retail occupiers and shoppers which bodes well for our longer term redevelopment plans.”

Peter Lever, Centre Manager, said : “It is very encouraging to see a rise in the number of shoppers despite the level of competition from competing centres.”

Kirkby Shopping Centre is widening its service to shoppers and traders by installing a website – – which will give up-to-date information on the centre, its occupiers and latest news of events and offers.
