Ginters’ letting crowns Coombs Wood distribution development phase

Another milestone was reached in St Modwen’s long-running redevelopment, in association with Corus plc, of the former Coombs Wood steelworks at Halesowen, West Midlands, with the last distribution unit on the 46-acre Coombs Wood Business Park, taken by Ginsters (Samworth Bros Ltd).

St Modwen Developments let the 7,155 sq ft (665 sq m) unit on a 15-year lease at £5.25 per sq ft, with five-yearly fixed rent reviews .

Ian Romano of St Modwen, said: “After a slow start, Coombs Wood has been a really successful scheme. In addition to a number of bespoke buildings we have rolled out a succession of speculative schemes covering small business units, distribution space, and offices, all of which have been well received.

“Total built space exceeds 450,000 sq ft (41,805 sq m) and we are now planning building out the final phases. The business park has proved a major anchor to the local economy.”

Atisreal acted for St Modwen. Alder King represented Ginsters.
