Go-ahead for 200,000 sq ft new warehouse at Accrington
Key Property Investments Ltd, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Salhia Real Estate Co., has been granted planning consent for up to 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) of new warehousing accommodation on the J7 Business Park, Accrington.
The 50-acre estate at Junction 7 of the M65, which was bought from Marconi in 2001, has been developed into one of the premier business locations in the M65 corridor. It currently houses 135 tenants representing both manufacturing and logistics businesses.
The planning consent by Hyndburn Borough Council gives the go-ahead for the next phase of the continual improvement to the business park.
There is currently approximately one million sq ft of occupied floorspace at the business park.
Steven Knowles of St Modwen, said that the consent consists of two standard 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft ) warehouses with 12 metre eaves and which can be tailored to occupiers specific requirements or combined.
