Go-ahead for more development at Trentham Lakes

Planning consent for the next stage of development at Trentham Lakes, Stoke-on-Trent, has been granted to Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, the joint venture vehicle formed by St Modwen Properties PLC and Stoke City Council.

The approval will enable the development of up to 65,030 sq m (700,000 sq ft) of additional warehousing and distribution accommodation, over 300 homes, a district shopping centre and a public house.

The regeneration company has already developed a 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) factory, HSBC call centre and Greens Health and Fitness Club on the first phase together with a Holiday Inn Express hotel and Harvester restaurant.

Mike Herbert, director of Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration and of St Modwen Developments Ltd, said: “Trentham Lakes is proving that an excellent developmnet site with a first class location will atrract companies to expand and locate in Stoke. “The city’s access to the M6 and M1 via the A50 is unparalled within the region and Trentham Lakes has the added benefit of beign able to provide main line rail access.”

Construction of the first of the new buildings is expected to begin in the New Year. It is a first-class location for manufacturing, distribution and logistic companies.
