Widnes Regeneration Ltd, a joint venture between St. Modwen and Halton Borough Council, has secured another three lettings at the second phase of the £5.9m Heron Business Park in Widnes.

The new occupiers, which have taken over 16,000 sq ft, include building maintenance specialist, JC Construction, Catalloy Ltd and security products supplier, Motion Systems Ltd.

This news follows last month’s announcement that phase two has started strongly, with six lettings already secured.

Richard Bakes, development manager at St. Modwen, said: “Following the tremendous success of phase one, which is now fully let, it’s great to see that the second phase is off to such a strong start. In what continues to be a challenging market, we have shown there is still demand for high-quality industrial premises and we have a number of other interested parties in the pipeline.

“It’s a fantastic sign companies are now choosing Widnes as the preferred location to trade from, and a testament to the work St. Modwen and our partners at the council have put into regenerating it as a key business district”.

Halton Borough Council Leader, Cllr Rob Polhill, said: “In the last decade, Widnes Regeneration Ltd has completely transformed and revitalised the town centre, leading to substantial new investment in adjoining areas.

“Last month, we were delighted to receive an award with our partners St. Modwen for strategic regeneration, which was recognition for the work we have completed here in Widnes”.

Heron Business Park comprises 125,000 sq ft of light-industrial space and is a key element of Halton Borough Council’s Widnes Waterfront regeneration project. Phase two features 19 units totaling 74,287 sq ft of commercial space.

Located at the heart of the Widnes Waterfront, phase two provides accommodation suitable for office, light industrial and general manufacturing uses, with priority given to small and medium sized enterprises.

Dixon Webb and GVA Grimley are joint agents acting for Widnes Regeneration Ltd.

Details of the three new occupiers are:

JC Construction Ltd (Unit 16) 7,126 sq ft

Catalloy Ltd (Unit 18) 7,052 sq ft

Motion Systems Ltd (Unit 27) 2,129 sq ft
