HELP TO BUY OPENS DOORS FOR HOUSEHUNTERS IN ST. HELENS
This weekend (Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August), St. Modwen Homes and Mortgage Bureau will be hosting a special event in St. Helens, designed to answer any queries about the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Free to attend, the Help to Buy event will be held between 10am and 5pm at St. Modwen Homes’ Radley Park development, located on Lowfield Lane.
The event will give househunters the opportunity to speak to local IFAs (independent financial advisors) about the equity loan scheme, helping people to better understand how the scheme could help them purchase their first home or move up the property ladder.
Help to Buy has proven hugely successful since it was launched in 2013, helping thousands of people to buy a new home. Under the scheme, buyers pay just 80% of the listed purchase price of a property, made up of a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The government will provide an equity loan of up to 20% to cover the remaining cost which is interest free for the first five years.
Bev Hall, sales and marketing director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “Help to Buy currently accounts for nearly 71% of our sales at Radley Park and we’re aware that many people still have lots of questions they would like answering. Our Help to Buy event will give people the perfect opportunity to get their questions answered, whether they’re wondering how much deposit they’ll need, how the repayments work or what the next steps in the process are. What’s more, we’ll be giving away iPads to the first five people that reserve a home this weekend.
“All our homes are available to purchase under Help to Buy and whilst, to date, the scheme has proven most popular with first time buyers at Radley Park, it is also available for those looking to move up the property ladder.”
Jon Quilliam, Independent Financial Advisor at Mortgage Bureau, said: “Purchasing a new home is one of the biggest decisions people make so it is vital that home buyers feel comfortable with any house-buying initiatives they plan to use. This open event will allow visitors to gain further understanding about Help to Buy and take away some free advice that will help them make an educated decision about using the scheme.”
St. Modwen Homes has recently opened a three bedroom show home at Radley Park – named the Gleaston – which is just one of three show homes available to view, alongside the Chichester four bedroom and Webster three bedroom homes. The three show homes have been fully furnished to allow visitors to get a flavour of what it would be like to live at the development.
There is range of two, three and four bedroom freehold properties currently available to purchase at Radley Park with prices for the new homes starting at just £134,995. All St. Modwen Homes’ houses have been designed with the developer’s philosophy of light and height, meaning each property benefits from high ceilings and large windows, as well as a high specification of fixtures and fittings, to ensure a spacious, comfortable and attractive home.
