Industrial starter units to be built in Widnes

Planning consent has been granted to Widnes Regeneration Ltd, the joint company between St Modwen Properties PLC and Halton Borough Council, for the development of  4,645 sq m (50,000 sq ft)  of industrial  starter units at Heron Business Park inside the Widnes Economic Development Zone.

It is planned to start  construction in May  of 11 units ranging in size from 279 sq m (3,000 sq ft)  to  790 sq m (8,500 sq ft ) with completion scheduled for the end of the year.

Simon James of Widnes Regeneration said:  “Since acquiring the site from Lafarge we have moved rapidly to get an agreed scheme which will provide small to medium size units targeted at the owner/occupier market.

“It is the first stage of a rolling programme of development by Widnes Regeneration in the EDZ which will help to underpin Widnes’ long term viability.”
