This summer, The Village at Waterdale, is inviting children to join the Friday fun at a series of exciting events throughout the school holidays.

Every Friday from 22nd July to the 26th August, The Village at Waterdale will be hosting a free family event to keep the kids entertained during summer. Children will be able to enjoy a range of fun activities, from face painting and balloon modelling to special events in association with Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery and Sticky Mits Nursery. Families will also benefit from free parking in the underground car park on event days.

The events include:

  • 22nd July: Animal Party – youngsters will get to pet a range of different animals including giant snails, snakes, lizards, hedgehogs and rabbits.
  • 29th July: Balloon modelling
  • 5th August: Summer crafts and face painting with Sticky Mits Nursery.
  • 12th August: Punch & Judy Show
  • 19th August: WW1 Children’s event with Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery
  • 26th August: Animal Party and book giveaway

Rebecca Berry, Centre Manager for The Village at Waterdale, said: “We have lots of fun activities lined up for the kids over the summer so we are excited to see the local community come together and make Fridays really fun at Waterdale. We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to team up with Sticky Mits Nursery and Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery again to deliver a really exciting line-up of summer events.”

Organised by St. Modwen, which owns and manages the shopping centre, the events are part of the ongoing work to revitalise the centre, which includes the current redevelopment of Young Street Car Park to deliver new and improved retail and leisure facilities to the town.
