St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has appointed Amanda Dawson (40) as Marketing and Promotions Manager to its 725 acre Trentham Estate in North Staffordshire, which is seven years into a ten year, £100m regeneration project.

Amanda brings over 20 years of marketing experience to the role that has been newly created to drive forward the marketing strategy for The Trentham Estate. With a remit to build upon the Estate’s growing regional and national reputation as a leading destination attraction, Amanda brings both professional and local expertise to the role:

“As a local girl I grew up with Trentham Gardens right on the doorstep and have watched with interest over the past few years as it has undergone an amazing transformation under the guidance of St. Modwen,” commented Amanda. “This role allows me to articulate my passion for Trentham which, together with my experience in marketing communications, tourism and promotion, means I have a great opportunity to make a real impact on Trentham’s future success. This is an Estate worthy of national recognition and the team will be working hard to raise awareness regionally and nationally to help the Estate realise its rightful place as one of Great Britain’s best visitor attractions.”

Visitor levels at The Trentham Estate have doubled in recent years with annual ticket holders rising to a record 7500 this year, each returning on average 18 times per year. The Estate encompasses the award-winning Trentham Gardens, Trentham Shopping Village and Garden Centre, Trentham Monkey Forest, Aerial Extreme high rope adventure course, plus a Premier Inn hotel. With a packed annual programme of events and activities alongside the creation of new attractions, Amanda’s appointment will ensure the cohesive delivery of an overarching marketing strategy for the diverse Estate, as Mike Herbert, regional director for St. Modwen explains:

“We are delighted that Amanda has joined the team at The Trentham Estate. With over 700 people currently employed here working both directly for St. Modwen and for the many thriving businesses located on the Estate, we have a multifaceted and unique product to market. This year alone at The Trentham Estate we have brought new retailers to the Shopping Village and are unveiling new attractions within the Western Pleasure Grounds, including two new show gardens, Echoes of Japan in an English Garden and a demonstration allotment. The Estate is constantly growing and evolving, as are marketing channels, particularly with the rising influence of social media, and we are therefore thrilled to have Amanda onboard as a marketing professional with the experience, energy and enthusiasm to help us further raise Trentham’s profile as one of the UK’s top tourist and leisure attractions.”
