LOCKING PARKLANDS WINS NATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST HOUSE DESIGNS
St. Modwen Homes has been awarded two more national accolades for its stand-out homes, including Best House Design for its Locking Parklands development located just outside Weston-super-Mare.
The company won Best House Design for Three Storeys or Fewer and Best Small Housebuilder at the Housebuilder Awards; an annual event that celebrates the very best in UK housebuilding. The awards are held by the HBF (Home Builders Federation), in partnership with the NHBC (National House-Building Council).
The Best House Design award was received for Locking Parklands thanks to its carefully considered approach in designing each individual house with original features so that it takes full advantage of its green, parkland surroundings. The judges were impressed by the light and airy feel of the properties, emphasised by floor to ceiling windows, glazing around the front doors and vaulted ceilings in some of the houses.
The variety of external facades really stood out against St. Modwen Homes’ competitors, with locally sourced materials used to create attractive streetscapes and south facing balconies enjoying outstanding views over the parks and local countryside.
St. Modwen Homes claimed the award over competition from other long-established developers including Taylor Wimpey, Redrow and Crest Nicholson.
Ben Cook, Regional Residential Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We take great pride in the design of our houses at Locking Parklands and are delighted that this has been recognised by one of the industry’s leading organisations. Working closely with our architects, we have put in a lot of effort to make sure that our properties boast practical, intelligent and attractive designs, ensuring the homes really stand out aesthetically against others in the market place, particularly for the price.”
Committed to delivering beautiful homes at an affordable price, the properties at Locking Parklands have not exceeded £325,000 in price, with houses currently starting from as little as £167,950.
Ben said: “Our focus is now on perfecting all areas of the build process so that we can continue to go on winning awards for Locking Parklands, focussing on community engagement, maintaining a high quality of build and strengthening relationships with our existing purchasers.”
The housebuilding brand of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, St. Modwen Homes was established just over two years ago and currently has five active sites located across the UK, including Littlecombe in Dursley and Edison Place in Rugby. Locking Parklands was its second site, launched in November 2011, and is now home to more than 100 households.
In addition to this recent award win, Locking Parklands was also named one of the top three developments in the UK at last year’s What House awards. Houses are currently for sale in The Meadows phase of Locking Parklands where a two bedroom terraced house starts in price from just £167,950.
The marketing suite, located off Farnborough Road in Locking, is open for visitors seven days a week between 10am and 6pm. For further information please call the St. Modwen Homes sales team on 0844 243 4848 or visit www.stmodwenhomes.co.uk
