Rushmoor Borough Council’s Planning Committee has resolved to grant planning permission for the proposed development to transform the land adjacent to The Meads Shopping Centre in Farnborough.
Locking Parklands has again this year been recognised as one of the best developments for first-time buyers after scooping industry recognition at an acclaimed industry awards ceremony.
St. Modwen Homes was highly recommended in the Best Large Development category at the prestigious First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards, following a public vote.
The award is judged on the development with the best design and quality to create an affordable, desirable and inspirational environment, and additional facilities to benefit the local community and surrounding neighbourhoods.
The awards were open to developments across the UK with more than 80 new homes, with Locking Parklands shortlisted in the final three alongside developments in Basingstoke and London.
It is the second national award the development has won in the last year after it won a silver award at the 2017 What House Awards in the Best Starter Home Scheme category.
Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, Dave Smith, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have been highly recommended in the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards, and to win two national awards for our commitment to first time buyers in as many years really is testament to everyone involved at Locking Parklands.
“With a development of this size, it’s vital that we are providing new homes for everybody at Locking Parklands, especially those who are looking to take their first step onto the property ladder. This has been at the forefront of our minds throughout the design and planning process for this development, and to receive recognition for the quality of the development for first time buyers is very satisfying.
“Buying your first home is an exciting task but it can be slightly daunting for some, which is why our staff offer as much guidance as possible throughout the process. It’s fantastic to win the award, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more first time buyers to their first homes at Locking Parklands.”
As well as offering high quality new homes, Locking Parklands also boasts large areas of green open space and mature woodland for new homeowners to enjoy, as well as a recently opened community centre and play area. Moving forwards, the new homes will be part of a much larger development at Locking Parklands which will include new office space, a school, library and a leisure complex.
A range of two, three and five bedroom homes are currently available to buy at Locking Parklands, including apartments and houses, with prices starting from £178,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.
