Longbridge Technology Park: Innovation Centre

The first anniversary of the Innovation Centre at Longbridge Technology Park in Birmingham was marked by another significant milestone – with the announcement that the 45,000 sq ft building is now 80 per cent let.

The £100 million Longbridge Technology Park is a milestone project within the West Midland’s expanding central technology belt and is part of the wider £750 million regeneration of Longbridge. The first phase of the 40-acre Park was recently completed by the UK’s regeneration specialist St Modwen and comprises two office buildings – the Innovation Centre and Two Devon Way.

28 companies have taken space at the Innovation Centre, with those taking advantage of the expanding high-tech community including Numara Software, Scyron, Co-operative Web, SRG, Select Research, TRL, Xprezzion, Surgi C, Energy Consortium, Access Central, VecoPlan Limited and Celtic Technologies Limited.

Innovation Centre manager Andrea Fullard said: “Since opening the doors just a year ago, we have had continued interest in the Innovation Centre; and the news that the building is now 80 per cent let pays testament to the appeal of the office space among small and start-up businesses.

“Anecdotal feedback suggests that the main factors in its continued success are location, modern facilities and the flexible lease terms on offer. We are finding that this offering is exactly what technologically-minded companies are looking for and, as the Innovation Centre’s reputation continues to grow, so does the interest in the remaining space.”

The Innovation Centre provides a full range of business support services along with a variety of fully flexible unfurnished, furnished and fully serviced offices from 200 sq ft upwards, on an inclusive monthly charge basis.

The Innovation Centre is also a state-of-the-art conference and meeting venue complete with the latest contemporary facilities and a level of service to match, and therefore fulfils the needs of a wide range of businesses and organisations. The strategic location of the Innovation Centre makes it an ideal meeting place. It is within five minutes drive of the M42 (junction 2) and M5 (junction 4), just eight miles from the centre of Birmingham and five minutes’ walk from Longbridge station.
