LONGBRIDGE TO HOST REMEMBRANCE EVENT
Local residents and visitors to Longbridge are invited to pay their respects to the fallen on Armistice Day, at the town’s annual Remembrance Event.
Taking place on Saturday 11th November, between 10am – 12noon, the event will include the traditional two minutes’ silence, gathering at 10:45am before being invited to write a message of support or remembrance on red ribbons, which will be displayed around the town centre.
Andrea Clarke, St. Modwen’s Town Centre Manager for Longbridge, said: “Following last year’s remembrance event we’d like to once again extend a warm welcome and encourage people to come to the town centre to remember both those who’ve fallen and support those supporting our country.”
The event has been organised by community group, God’s Heart for Longbridge (GHFL) in collaboration with Friends of Longbridge Open Spaces initiative (FLOS), which is a community group funded by St. Modwen through its Longbridge Life platform.
Janice Paine from GHFL, said: “Last year’s event provided a real sense of community and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the town centre for the act of remembrance.”
