More Trentham Lakes Land sold for housing

Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, the joint venture vehicle of St Modwen Properties PLC and the City of Stoke, has sold 8.9 acres of serviced residential land at Trentham Lakes South, Stoke, to Bryant Homes Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

Approximately 100 new homes – predominantly three and four-bedroom detached dwellings – are proposed on the site. David Wilson Homes, which purchased the first tranche, has commenced work on its scheme of 145 dwellings . Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd is responsible for remediation of the land and the provision of major infrastructure.

Ray Hill, Development Surveyor for St Modwen, said that Trentham Lakes South there is proving extremely popular with residential developers as a location for larger, detached properties within the city. A final tranche of three acres is expected to be released later this year.

Trentham Lakes, which is the site of the former Hem Heath Colliery, covers some 400 acres and is being developed as a major mixed use scheme with a wide range of industrial, distribution, office and leisure uses in addition to the residential element.
