NANDO’S TO OPEN AT THE HIVE

Halton Borough Council and St. Modwen have secured the final letting at the new £10 million leisure scheme in Widnes.

National restaurant group Nando’s has taken 3,880 sq ft of space at the site making the development 100 per cent pre-let.

The development, called The Hive, is set to create a new focus for family-orientated entertainment in the borough and will include a five screen multiplex Reel Cinema, a 16-lane Widnes Superbowl centre, a 36,000 sq ft ice rink, a Frankie and Benny’s bar and restaurant and a 60-bedroom Premier Inn and adjoining Brewers Fayre family pub and restaurant.

Halton Borough Council’s Leader Cllr Rob Polhill commented: “The news is very much welcome for the borough and we believe that the restaurant will work really well alongside the existing businesses already confirmed for the site.

“This exciting development is regenerating a large part of the Widnes Waterfront and Nando’s will offer extra job opportunities for local people.”

Michael Hosie, development manager at St. Modwen said: “This latest and final letting to Nando’s is an exciting offer that perfectly complements the existing facilities at the leisure scheme which is set to become an exciting focus for the Borough and beyond.

“We are delighted that all units have been let to high calibre, exciting occupiers not previously represented in the town.”
