New Market Hall under construction in Mold Shopping Centre

Work has started on the construction of the new market hall as part of the redevelopment of The Daniel Owen Shopping Centre, Mold, by St Modwen Ventures, an investment subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC.

When the new market hall is completed in April the existing market hall will be demolished and replaced with seven new retail units. The two largest of them will be for Argos (11,244 sq ft) and Peacocks (7,500 sq ft), the major anchors for the redeveloped centre.

The two stores will be ready for trading in early autumn. The whole scheme is due to be completed in November.

Steve Prosser of St Modwen said: “We are underway with the new market hall which is an integral part of the scheme that will greatly enhance the retail facilities of the town and create at least 50 new jobs.”
