NEW SHOPS CONFIRMED FOR HATFIELD TOWN CENTRE

The UK’s leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen has let the final shop at its development at 88-96 Town Centre, Hatfield.

Savers Health & Beauty Limited is set to open a health, home and beauty store in units 94-96 Hatfield Town Centre this week.

This is the latest in a series of new stores for the Town Centre, with Savers due to open on 16 March. St. Modwen has also let unit 88 to Barnardos, the final store in the new parade of shops and 15 apartments developed next to the ASDA superstore.

The fully-let parade includes Coral and independent operator Fone Smart.

St. Modwen now only has one shop, unit 17d, available in the Town Centre – one of two retail units and four apartments in the company’s development fronting White Lion Square.

As part of the development works St. Modwen also refurbished much of the public realm in the Town Centre, installing new paving, trees and benches to create an attractive environment for shoppers, businesses and residents.

Following this work by St. Modwen, Welwyn Hafield Borough Council has continued its £3.65m investment programme to create a better shopping environment – resulting in a new Peacocks store opening on White Lion Square towards the end of 2015.

Current improvement works include the refurbishment of the shops and flats around White Lion Square with new windows, facades and a renovated canopy with lighting.

Nick Smith, Development Manager at St. Modwen, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Savers and Barnardos to the Town Centre – lettings which will add to Hatfield’s growing line-up of shops.

“These new openings mean that our development at 88-96 Town Centre is now fully-let, creating more choice for shoppers and also enlivening the main shopping area between White Lion Square and the ASDA superstore.”
