NEW WEMBLEY CENTRAL OPEN DAY A SUCCESS AS IT SHOWS OFF CENTRE’S NEW LOOK, NEW SHOPS, NEW CAFÌäS AND FACILITIES

Hundreds of locals, shoppers and even passing rugby fans took advantage of the newly redeveloped Wembley Central shopping centre on Saturday, enjoying the first of two consecutive Saturdays of public entertainment.

Developers St. Modwen encouraged visitors to celebrate the shopping centre’s transformed appearance, showing off the results of its multi-million pound investment.

Members of the public watched Bollywood dancers perform while being entertained by stilt walkers and balloon modelling, while hordes of children enjoyed having their faces painted and receiving congratulatory chocolate eggs.

They could also indulge in a spot of shopping, refresh themselves with a cup of coffee or simply soak up the atmosphere and the entertainment provided.

On Saturday 4th April, again between 11am to 2pm, the stilt walkers and face painters will return with even more chocolate eggs.

The events also showcase what a fantastic place Wembley Central is to live with just 28 more flats to rent in final tranche of homes developed by St Modwen.

The last apartments in the new development are currently being marketed for rental online (www.wembley-central.co.uk) and are now available to move into.

St. Modwen has delivered a total of 273 new homes within the overall scheme, which is gaining increasing recognition as a smart new urban quarter.

And Costa, which opened just over a month ago, joined the fun with cake tasting and balloons outside their new store on the main parade. It will be doing so again on 4th April for those who missed out last weekend.

The coffee shop chain is a welcome addition to the £90million Wembley Central developed by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, which has given the Town Centre’s commercial heart a new lease of life, generating more footfall and attracting new custom to the area.

Along with the new Wenzel’s bakery, Costa completes the parade of shops that leads to Wembley Central train and tube station and which already consists of The Perfume Shop and O2. The overall scheme has also introduced TX Maxx, Sports Direct, Tesco Metro and a major new Argos store to the newly regenerated Town Centre.

Travelodge is the most recent addition to Wembley Central with a new 86 bedroom hotel overlooking the square that opened its doors to its first customers earlier this month.

It further boosts Wembley Central as a multi-purpose destination where people can come not only to shop, but to meet with friends or to visit Explore Learning or popular fitness club The Gym.

Killian Morris, Senior Development Manager at St. Modwen said: ”Saturday provided us with chance to showcase the ongoing success story that is Wembley Central and to welcome current and new shoppers to the area to join in and have some fun.

”An increasing number of people are benefiting from the improved surroundings every day and of course this includes those who have bought or rented homes at Wembley Central.”

St. Modwen’s regeneration of Wembley Central also includes a new public square, enhanced train station, refurbished 24 hour multi-storey car park and gym facilities.
