ONE OF THE SOUTH’S BEST: THE MEADS SCOOPS Ì¢‰âÂèÏINVESTORS IN PEOPLE’ STANDARD

Staff at The Meads shopping centre in Farnborough are celebrating being awarded the prestigious Investors in People standard. The nationally-recognised accreditation demonstrates the centre’s commitment to, and progress in, developing its staff and business. It is the leading standard of its kind in the UK.

The awarding panel praised the centre’s “very creditable achievement” in “achieving well beyond the required standards” and ranked it in the top seven per cent of companies in the south of England. It highlighted how learning is “an everyday activity” at The Meads, with an “ethos of continual improvement” and the management showing “a real interest in the career progression of the team”.

The Meads is owned by Key Property Investments, a joint venture between St. Modwen and Salhia Real Estate. Andy Wynn, St. Modwen’s centre manager for The Meads, said: “This is a great achievement and we’re both thrilled and proud. Not only do we have recognition for our performance to date, we also have a benchmark we can work from to improve our working practices yet further.”

St. Modwen is also delivering Farnborough town centre’s regeneration. The first and second phases have been successfully completed and have seen Sainsbury’s, Travelodge, New Look and JD Wetherspoon sign up to take space in a revitalised town centre.
